ACL Rehab Exercise – Heel Slide

Heel slides are used during week 1 of ACL surgery rehab to help improve the strength and range of motion of the right knee. I find this exercise to be very effective at increasing the range of motion as you can get a little extra push off the carpet to help increase the range of motion.

Heel Slide Exercise Instructions

While on your back with your legs flat(as flat as possible) on the ground, slowly bend your injured knee. Your foot on your injured knee should slide along the surface until it is as close to your butt as possible.

Tip – when you’re knee is starting to feel better you can use your good foot to try and help your other foot move further.
